Most everyone wants to live as long as possible. However, much of life longevity has to do with the overall attitude. Scientists say that all humans have the capability of living until at least the age of 85. There are a few things which can be done to reach this genetically predicted age and beyond. First off, believing that longevity will be obtained and taking the right measures to stay fit and healthy are important to conquering your personal goal of living the longest life possible. The following anti-aging tips will provide a few suggestions which may play a pertinent role in your life longevity.
An obvious important factor of life longevity would be the foods which should be part of the daily diet. Tomatoes, for instance, contain a strong antioxidant called lycopene. This antioxidant decreases by forty percent, the risk of prostate, stomach, and lung cancers. Less chance of heart disease and being more mentally fit is also derived from eating tomatoes. Spinach and garlic have antioxidant properties as well. Both will fend off cancer and heart disease. Other foods which significantly provide antioxidants are blueberries and red grapes. Even in the form of grape juice or red wine, these beverages have four times more antioxidants than that of tomato or orange juice. Other foods to include on the road to longevity are nuts, whole grains, and salmon or other fatty fish. The omega-3 fatty acids in fish will aid in fighting off any disease. Choose olive oil for its high antioxidant properties.
Besides the importance of diet for longevity, attitude is another pertinent factor. According to research, one hundred years of age will be accomplished if a positive attitude is sustained. Keeping a positive attitude will ward off illnesses or shorten their duration. With a good attitude, there will be more smiles, brighter days, and more fulfilling activities.
Socializing is also important to life longevity. Local park districts or churches often have bus trips geared for seniors. Senior bingo night is another function often planned. Whatever it may be, building and maintaining friendships at any age will enhance good health, prevent depression, and build up the body’s immunities which fight infection.
Among these various anti-aging tips, regular exercise is also an important aspect for longevity. Getting the proper exercise will prevent almost any disease which will sabotage the longevity plan of life. Experts suggest that thirty minutes of exercise at least five times per week will keep one fit and healthy. Even an elderly person can include sufficient activities in their daily regime. Gardening and housework count towards activity. Taking a walk every morning or evening, going for a swim, or even dancing will suffice the recommended daily activity as well.

I would agree whole-heartedly that your attitude and outlook in life are very important overall, including living longer. I will always remember my Uncle David, who kind of had a sour attitude all the time and never seemed to enjoy anything. He died early from heart disease. I always wondered if his attitude had anything to do with it. I think it probably did. So I vowed to try and be as happy with myself as possible.
